Hey! My name is Duncan and this is my budget travel blog called Stingy Sightseeing. This blog aims to give you a good review of some fun destinations to travel to, how to travel on a budget, some tips for saving money while travelling, and some ideas of fun activities to do and unique attractions to see at destinations around the globe.
Being born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, travel was not always an accessible activity, both from a financial point of view and due to Cape Town’s relatively isolated geographic location. I started travelling more extensively in my late 20s around 2023 after moving to Washington, DC in the USA. I have always tried to find the best deals when travelling, hence the title of this blog, while still being able to experience some unique activities and less common attractions.
During my travels I have gathered some useful tips, stumbled upon some unique things to do and see, and tasted many delicious foods and drinks. When visiting a new destination I try to see the biggest sporting venue, taste the most iconic regional eats, hunt for the best skyline view points, and grab a beer at the oldest pub.
